High School Senior Sessions Tips

Are you being tasked with finding that special photographer to capture all that is your amazing senior? Fun fact: most Seattle schools do not provide senior photos for the yearbook! That task is up to you…because you’ve got nothing else to do. ;) It’s not too early to plan for your senior’s session while the weather is still beautiful!

We’ve Got You Covered!

Senior photos have never been easier! We can come to you or meet you at your student’s favorite haunt! I don’t know about you but my senior photos were absolutely ridiculous! (It could have been the 80’s too…haha!) I was told to bring 3 changes of outfits and they photographed me in a blue lit studio with a laser beams as a back ground. OH THE HORROR! So glad those times are behind us! When you hire us for a senior session, we go where your senior feels most comfortable: the beach with a boba in hand, at home romping with a pet, or chillin one of our gorgeous Seattle city parks! So, tip number one, get creative!

What to Wear?

I’m sure your teen never deliberates on what to wear. I know my never does;). We have a few tips to pass onto your senior about choosing their outfit! Let them know that we want them to be as comfortable in front of the camera as possible! “Wear something that feels like YOU!” Pretty much the sky is the limit, if they are super comfortable and feel it represents them. Two caveats, no neon colors (the color casts the skin) and try to stay away from logos.

A Little Bit of Preparation

Try to book the senior session later in the day, on a day that your teen MAY have gotten more sleep. We know that’s easier said than done. For most teens, morning sessions are not a great idea. (If you have an early riser, more power to ya!) Have them try on their outfits several days before and make sure the clothes are clean (enough) the night before. And just like when they were little, encourage them to eat well before. My kiddo will do pretty much anything I ask if Chipotle and boba are involved! Most importantly, keep calm, yourself. Teens still feed off of our energy. Have you noticed?? You keep it chill and there is a better chance they will feel more comfortable at their photography session!
